Explainly is a Chrome browser extension that allows users to select text on any webpage and receive AI-generated explanations in multiple depth modes (ELI5, Normal, Deep, and Why?). The Service also includes a cloud save library, a built-in PDF viewer, and user account management.
The Service uses third-party AI providers (Google Gemini and Groq) to generate explanations. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose of AI-generated content.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should have parental or guardian consent.

The free plan provides 5 explanations per day at no charge. No credit card is required. We may change the limits of the free plan at any time with reasonable notice.
Paid plans provide higher daily limits, PDF support, cloud saves, and additional features. Payments are processed by Paddle (international) or Razorpay (India), auto-detected by your region. By subscribing, you agree to the applicable payment processor's terms and privacy policy in addition to these Terms.
Prices are listed in Indian Rupees (₹ INR) and US Dollars ($). Your payment processor may present prices in your local currency at checkout. Prices are subject to change; any price changes will be communicated before they take effect for existing subscribers.
All subscribers may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will retain paid-tier access until then. No partial refunds are issued for unused time except as described in our Refund Policy.

AI-generated explanations are provided to you for personal reading and research use. We do not claim ownership of the original text you select; explanations derived from your selections are generated for your personal use.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Explainly and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
The Service integrates with third-party providers including Google (OAuth and Gemini AI), Groq (AI fallback), Supabase (database and authentication), and Paddle (payments). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
